About PTCF

The Palisades Tahoe Community Foundation (PTCF) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Palisades Tahoe student-athletes and the legacy of the Olympic Valley community. We empower athletes with scholarships, academic resources, and community support to cultivate future leaders on and off the hill. Since 2014, PTCF has awarded more than $1M in scholarships and continues to expand its impact through access, education, and community initiatives.

Role Overview

PTCF seeks Volunteer Fundraising Committee Members to help guide and execute our annual fundraising strategy. Committee members work alongside the Board of Directors, Development Team, and Events Committee to identify opportunities, cultivate donor relationships, and ensure our fundraising campaigns meet their goals. Your efforts will directly fund scholarships, the Academic Center, and programming that helps local student-athletes succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Contribute ideas and support planning for annual fundraising initiatives (e.g., Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, sponsorship drives, and community campaigns).
  • Help set fundraising targets, timelines, and strategies for both digital and in-person campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer, and Copywriter to ensure strong campaign messaging.

Donor & Sponsor Engagement

  • Assist in identifying and cultivating relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and in-kind partners.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you notes, recognition, and follow-ups.
  • Represent PTCF at events, serving as a friendly ambassador for the organization.

Event Support & Coordination

  • Partner with the Events Committee to align fundraising activities with marquee events (e.g., Warren Miller Film Premiere, Peak 2 Peak Race, Speaker Series).
  • Provide on-site support at major fundraising events to ensure guests and donors feel valued and engaged.

Reporting & Improvement

  • Participate in regular committee meetings to share progress and brainstorm new opportunities.
  • Help review campaign performance to identify successes and opportunities for future improvement.

Qualifications

  • Passion for supporting youth sports, education, and the local Tahoe community.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with donor outreach and relationship-building (experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing a plus, but not required).
  • Collaborative team player who can dedicate consistent time during key fundraising seasons.
  • Organized and reliable, with attention to detail in follow-up and donor recognition.

Time Commitment

  • 2–4 hours per month for committee meetings and ongoing planning.
  • Additional 3–6 hours per month during peak fundraising seasons or prior to major events.
  • Flexible hybrid role with most meetings virtual; on-site presence encouraged at key fundraising events.
