Palisades Tahoe Community Foundation is seeking a Volunteer Graphic Designer to help bring our mission to life through bold, inspiring visuals. This part-time unpaid volunteer role will design digital and print materials that amplify our fundraising campaigns, athlete stories, event promotions, and sponsor recognition—all to support Palisades Tahoe student-athletes as they excel on and off the mountain.

About PTCF

The Palisades Tahoe Community Foundation (PTCF) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Palisades Tahoe student-athletes and the legacy of the Olympic Valley community. We empower athletes with scholarships, academic resources, and community support to cultivate future leaders on and off the hill. Since 2014, PTCF has awarded more than $1M in scholarships and continues to expand its impact through access, education, and community initiatives.

Role Overview

PTCF seeks a Volunteer Graphic Designer to create impactful visual assets for use across print, digital, and event platforms. From event posters to campaign graphics and donor reports, this role ensures PTCF’s brand remains consistent, professional, and inspiring to athletes, families, donors, and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Branding

  • Design digital assets for social media, email campaigns, website banners, and sponsor shout-outs.
  • Create print-ready collateral such as flyers, signage, brochures, and event programs.
  • Support the development of branded templates for reports, presentations, and fundraising decks.
  • Uphold and evolve PTCF’s brand guidelines—colors, typography, and overall visual style.

Campaign & Event Support

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to deliver cohesive visual content for major events (e.g., Giving Tuesday, Speaker Series, Peak 2 Peak Race, Warren Miller Film Premiere, Gear swap, Academic Center).
  • Design eye-catching fundraising campaign assets and sponsorship recognition pieces.
  • Deliver quick-turn graphics for time-sensitive needs, especially during event weeks.

Collaboration & File Management

  • Work closely with the Videographer, Photographer, and Marketing/Events teams to align visuals with messaging.
  • Provide editable templates to empower staff and volunteers to maintain consistent brand usage.
  • Maintain an organized design library accessible to PTCF staff and partners.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of graphic design experience (nonprofit, sports, or outdoor/event industry preferred).
  • Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience creating both digital and print-ready files.
  • Knowledge of Tahoe community, youth sports, or snow-sports culture is a plus.
  • Organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Time Commitment

  • Estimated 5-10 hours per month, with additional hours around key fundraising and event seasons.
