Palisades Tahoe Community Foundation is seeking a Volunteer Photographer to help capture the moments that tell our community’s story. This part-time unpaid volunteer role will document our fundraising events, athlete milestones, and behind-the-scenes stories—bringing to life the spirit of Palisades Tahoe student-athletes on and off the mountain.

About PTCF
The Palisades Tahoe Community Foundation (PTCF) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Palisades Tahoe student-athletes and the legacy of the Olympic Valley community. We empower athletes with scholarships, academic resources, and community support to cultivate future leaders on and off the hill. Since 2014, PTCF has awarded more than $1M in scholarships and continues to expand its impact through access, education, and community initiatives.
Role Overview
PTCF seeks Volunteer Photographers to capture high-quality photos that showcase our athletes in action, highlight fundraising events, and tell authentic stories of our community. Volunteer Photographers will work closely with the Social Media Manager, Videographer, and Events Team to ensure that all images reflect our brand and inspire support for our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Lifestyle Photography
- Photograph PTCF marquee events (e.g., Warren Miller Film Premiere, Speaker Series, Peak 2 Peak Race, Donor events).
- Capture candid and action shots of athletes, families, volunteers, and community celebrations.
- Coordinate with event leads to identify essential photo opportunities and plan coverage.
Content for Storytelling & Marketing
- Provide edited, high-resolution images for use across social media, newsletters, websites, donor materials, and press.
- Deliver quick-turn highlight galleries for time-sensitive posts after key events.
- Ensure sponsor logos and branding are appropriately featured when required.
Collaboration & Archiving
- Partner with the Social Media Manager and Videographer to align imagery with content calendars and campaigns.
- Maintain an organized photo library with metadata and permissions for future use.
- Respect athlete/family photo release waivers and ensure privacy guidelines are met.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of photography experience (nonprofit, sports, or outdoor/event photography preferred).
- Skilled in action, portrait, and candid event photography.
- Proficient in photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Strong eye for composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with the Tahoe community, youth sports, or snow sports culture is a plus.
- Organized, dependable, and collaborative—comfortable working in dynamic event settings.
Time Commitment
- Estimated 5-10 hours per month, with additional hours during key events.
- Flexible hybrid role; on-site presence required at PTCF events.
